Nutella, the beloved brand, is celebrating 60 years!
On February 5th, World Nutella Day will be celebrated worldwide.
This year will mark another major milestone – Nutella's 60th anniversary.
Over the six decades, millions of people have been starting their day with Nutella to spread positivity, connect with others, and bring a winning taste and great enjoyment to the table since its humble beginnings in Italy, the brand is now spreading smiles in over 170 countries worldwide. It has become an iconic and beloved brand celebrated globally on World Nutella Day every year.
Nutella began as a story of invention and passion. The product, which would eventually become Nutella, was first developed by the founder of the Ferrero Group, Pietro Ferrero, in response to a cocoa shortage after World War II. The original recipe used a small amount of cocoa (which was rare at this time), combined with hazelnuts, a local delicacy in Piedmont, Italy. In 1964, while many were still making solid chocolate, Pietro's son, Michele Ferrero, evolved the product and created the Nutella spread that we know and love today.
The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship has persisted for 60 years, allowing Nutella to evolve and innovate to deliver a variety of new product experiences. From the launch of the first on- the-go snack with Nutella &GO! in 2005, to the crispy Nutella B-ready in 2015, and Nutella Biscuits – the first and only biscuit with creamy Nutella filling – in 2019.

To commemorate the event, six limited edition Nutella jars will be launched in Israel, each representing a character with unique feature that we all recognize in people who make us smile – from the superhero to the best friend, from the champion to the birthday star.
Alongside the jars, Nutella will launch a marketing campaign that includes a special digital activity for consumers, available exclusively on the nutella.com website.
