Our products are made with the greatest of care from start to finish. We seek excellence along the whole supply chain, focusing on social, environmental and animal welfare aspects of the ingredients we rely on for our products.
In our Ferrero Dairy Charter, we define how we are working with our suppliers to support a good dairy industry for people, animals and the environment.
Our commitments include the following:
- Through the Ferrero Farming Values (FFV) programme for dairy, we develop and nurture long-term relationships with carefully selected dairy suppliers who adhere to our strict quality and food safety standards.
- We go above and beyond the required legislation on responsible dairy sourcing, outlining our ambitions to support the dairy industry through our Ferrero Dairy Charter.
- We work with Food Animal Initiative (FAI) farms and dairy suppliers.
We are committed to responsible sourcing that supports animal welfare and helps build a stable, compliant and resilient cage-free egg supply chain. Our egg supply chain is also fully integrated, meaning suppliers have control over the entire lifecycle of their hens, including their feed composition.
We mainly source eggs from the EU, Türkiye, Mexico and the United States.
In 2024, we were awarded the Compassion In The World Farming’s - Global Good Egg Award for having been 100% cage-free in Europe since 2014 and for our commitment to sourcing 100% cage-free egg products globally.
Our commitment & action
-Ferrero achieved 100% cage-free eggs in the European Union in 2014, marking an early milestone in our approach to animal welfare.
-In fiscal year 2024/25, 89% of our global egg product usage came from European cage-free barn systems. An additional 7% is from Mexico and Türkiye, which completed their transition to cage-free barn systems by January 2026. The remaining 4% relates to a U.S. business currently under integration, with a clear roadmap to achieve cage-free sourcing by 2028.
-We continue to expand cage-free sourcing globally in collaboration with our suppliers as part of our responsible sourcing journey.
Ferrero purchases approximately 22% refined cane sugar and 78% beet sugar. Most of our beets are sourced from European producers, and our sugarcane comes primarily from Brazil, India, Mexico and Australia.
Ferrero uses 100% Bonsucro-certified cane sugar, and we have built solid and trusted relationships with agricultural cooperatives and producers.
Ferrero has been a member of Bonsucro since 2010 a-global, non-profit organisation promoting sustainable sugarcane production, processing and trade worldwide. The organisation’s production standard reduces environmental and social impacts, including biodiversity, ecosystem, human rights and labour standards.
"Esto es de lo que más orgulloso estoy: contamos con 400 compradores trabajando en la misma dirección, con las mismas normas de cumpimiento, para avzanr en el estándar de nuestras cadenas de suministro".
