SACCO CONOSCIUTO - OUR COMMITMENT TO QUALITY INGREDIENTS AND RESPONSIBLE SOURCING

Sacco conosciuto

Sacco conosciuto translates literally as “known bag”.  This commitment to knowing every single detail about our raw materials has been in our DNA since Ferrero was founded in 1946.  The focus on selected quality ingredients, nurtured and sourced from carefully selected suppliers and farmers, continues to drive our commitment and care for checking our ingredients every step of the way.

Our food experts engage in regular taste and texture checks and analyses, supplier inspections and food safety procedures to ensure the control and quality of our raw materials. In today's complex supply chains, technology and close partnerships with suppliers allow us to scale these analyses.

A fundamental element of our commitment to quality and responsible sourcing is the careful selection of raw materials, which we source with full respect for a strict code concerning their origin, harvesting, and manufacturing.  We also apply quality and traceability procedures to preserve the taste, smell, texture, flavour and nutritional characteristics of our raw materials.

A key first step in our responsible sourcing approach remains the ability to trace our raw materials back to their origin. We use innovative technologies to support our traceability commitments, including a partnership with Sourcemap.

Sacco conosciuto is part of our heritage, and it continues to drive our approach to responsible sourcing today.
