At Ferrero, we take our responsibility to establish sustainability practices seriously, by focusing on improving our operations and engaging partners across our value chain.







Our progress is rooted in our sustainability framework, focusing on four core sustainability pillars: protecting the environment, sourcing ingredients sustainably, promoting responsible consumption and empowering people. We make progress on these pillars by investing in innovation and technology, enhancing transparency and compliance, as well as fostering a culture of collaboration.

Our key focus areas include:
- Climate and energy: Reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 21.7% compared to Fiscal year 2017/18, while increasing production.
- Water management: Decreasing water withdrawal and assesing the Ferrero water footprint.
- Industrial and food residuals: Running a successful pilot to decarbonise transportation across Europe.
- Packaging design and the circular economy: Advancing our journey to mono-materials, flexible films and replacing hard-to-recycle plastic.

Ferrero has established practices to maintain sustainable and ethical supply chains and manage related challenges.
- Cocoa: We are working to make cocoa farming more resilient and inclusive by supporting farmer livelihoods, empowering women, and investing in community development and education.
- Hazelnut: We promote sustainable hazelnut farming through regenerative agriculture, local partnerships, and long-term support for farming communities.
- Palm oil: We are committed to responsible palm oil sourcing by protecting biodiversity, improving working conditions, and advancing nature-based solutions in key sourcing regions.
- Dairy: Our dairy strategy focuses on supporting animal welfare, reducing environmental impact, and strengthening collaboration with farmers to drive continuous improvement.

- As one of the world’s largest sweet-packaged food companies, we consider quality, safety, nutrition and communication to be key areas for our sustainability approach. Food plays a central role in all our lives and consumers enjoy our products in more than 170 countries.
- It is our responsibility to ensure our products meet high standards for safety and quality. We must also ensure our marketing communications and product labelling help consumers make appropriate choices about the foods they buy and eat. Our overall compliance rate was 98.93% for television advertising and 88.89% for online advertising.
